Old Writings :: Introduction

So, I finally decided to resuscitate the hard drives sitting on my bookshelves gathering dust today and let me tell you that it was a trip down memory lane. First and foremost, I simply couldn't believe the size of the drives... i.e. I had one which was a mere 850 MB... compared to my 40 GIG drive now... technology sure has come along way and my writings as well. In every drive that I could gain access to, I had some sort of website happening... some were published online, some weren't. And let me say that my despite my current lack of designing skills... it has improved TREMENDOUSLY!! Gawd... what on earth was I thinking when I did those sites??

For example, there was a site when if you accessed the page, this .wav file mysteriously started playing... scared the bejesus out of me!! AND it was a geeky tune no less... the theme from Airwolf!! How embarrassing. Now, a personal website in the mid nineties wouldn't be a website without the mandatory, "this is my mum, dad, brother, sister, pets, friends etc" section... sheesh!! Then of course, there were the animated gifs, the UGLY UGLY clip art etc. AND, I simply CANNOT believe that I actually had a working guest book (I hate those things now... 'tis funny how the mind changes itself... I used to think that it was the coolest thing around!!) Anyhows, I think that it would be a waste of my time and effort if I didn't publish / republish the stuff I wrote all those years ago... so up it goes again, neatly filed under the heading "Old Writings". The content remains the same but I have taken out the clip art and all those annoying little bits.

When reading the following writings, bear in mind that I was a very "angry" person when I returned... it took me a good year to get used to life in Malaysia and now, I can happily say that whilst I occasionally bitch about stuff, I have gotten somewhat used to it .
