Underwear in Malaysia

Ooooooh the joy of procrastination!! The unbelievably good feeling one gets when one doesn't do something one is supposed to do!! Hehehe... I have dedicated the whole day today to updating my web site i.e. get everything up and running properly. For those of you who are "my regulars", you would know that I haven't been updating my site in a while. Well, I have three main reasons (excuses):
  • busy with work (honestly)
  • I lost access to my old server (well, I did graduate 2 years ago)
  • I sold my digital camera (am saving up to buy a better one) thus I have got no inspiration whatsoever.
Well, I got bored with reformatting all my old pages so here I am, writing yet another story. I have lost count of how many stories I have written. Many thanks and heaps of appreciation to those of you who actually took the time to comment on my stories... that is the main reason why I continue to write these short "stories" of mine.

OK... enough procrastinating! This story is about underwear in Malaysia. A little background information here. I stand at a mighty 5 feet 4.5 inches tall and I am approximately 120 pounds (give or take a few ). I am not big by the western standards (i.e. Australian) but I am a freaking giant in this country. I am taller than most people here (males and females included), plus I am bigger (NOT fatter!!). I have to admit that I weigh more than most people in this country. I don't think that I am fat... just big. I USED to be fat but not anymore . One day, when I am more secure with myself, I will post a picture on what I used to look like.

Anyway, my underwear i.e. panties are wearing out. I used to shop in Kmart, back in Australia for underwear. I wore a size 8 - 10 in Australia (depending on the cut of the garment). That is considered a "small". Here, in this country, where everyone is a midget, I have to wear large!! Sometimes even extra large! I can't find local pants that fit me properly i.e. long enough. I used to buy the imported brands (i.e. designer clothes) but that got too expensive, so I now shop in the men's department.

OK... there I was, armed with RM200 (about US$40 - $50) all ready buy some underwear. The quality of the underwear out there is remarkable. One can get a pair of panties for RM10 but the quality sucks. They looked like there were going to fall apart after ONE wash. So I went for the higher end ones i.e. the comfy ones that I like (am a little particular to the cutting of my undergarments). The Renoma ones looked pretty good, a little expensive (RM25) but the quality was acceptable. Then I found out that they only came in two sizes... small and large. Naturally, guess which one I went for. I bought a couple of those ones. Took them home and horror of horrors, they were too small!! Seeing that I bought them on sale, I couldn't take them back. Now, it is rather depressing for me to NOT be able to fit into a pair of LARGE underwear.

Then, this other brand, Body Glove, appealed to me. Again, I bought a few pairs (at RM20 a pop this was getting rather expensive). I bought them in different styles... all large again. Guess what? One style fitted but not the rest (I gave them to my sister). After a few washes, the one that fitted started looking like a worn out dish cloth... so bang goes that particular brand.

You know what really erks me (aside from the fact that I am still wearing my old panties)?? I have spent hundreds of dollars on underwear which doesn't fit me very well (might resort to wearing male underwear)!! Good underwear in this country is VERY expensive... for females that is. Men on the other hand have it good... they can buy underwear in packs of two or three... sometimes even four! And the cost of those packs are equal if not cheaper to ONE female pair. They get the good quality, heavy duty stuff at cheapo prices!! Have you ever seen female panties sold in packs of three? I haven't!! Female panties are all sold individually and are not meant to last as opposed to men's underwear.

Of course, I enjoy wearing the silk, satin and lacy lingerie but they are totally unaffordable, have to be hand washed etc. Not practical in the least. I like underwear which don't ride up my butt (can't stand the butt flossing), which don't have to be handwashed, which are comfortable etc. I would like an underwear manufacturer out there to make male underwear for females and market it like the male variety and ship it to Malaysia!! Oh, and selling the correct sizes would be good too .
