Well, there are some responsibilities when it comes to using the Pill. For example, a person has to make sure that she takes it EVERY DAY and at around the same time. If one if using it as birth control method, one has to be sure that one's partner isn't infected with a sexually transmitted disease because the Pill doesn't offer the same protection as a condom.
Before I left Australia, I got about a 9 months supply of the Pill that I was currently on. Well, my supply ran out. So I went to my local doctor, gave him the little leaflet that came with the brand that I was used to and asked him to prescribe something similar. He found this brand which matches my old one. So I started taking that one two months ago. Was it a mistake!! I got PMS in a MASSIVE way... sheesh... it was unbelievable to say the least. I mean, I was irritable, irrational etc. The best part of it all was that I didn't notice that anything was wrong! Then, when it was time for me to actually start ermmm leaking, man... I got the worst cramps! We are talking debilitating ones... there were times when I couldn't walk much less straighten up.
My boyfriend was a big help in that area... he massaged me, got me warm compresses etc. Basically, he was very understanding (gawd bless his soul 
). About a week before I started leaking... my breasts suddenly decided that it wanted to grow... no kidding. There were days when I woke up with a cleavage! Then, sometime during the day, it would shrink. No, I am not kidding. The difference was VERY pronounced. Remember your puberty years when your chest (be it males or females) started growing and you felt a little tender? Well, I experienced the same thing. Then, I started expanding... ie. my belly. I woke up one day looking like I was four months pregnant! That two weeks (prior and during) were terrible! I mean, I would go to bed wondering what I would look like when I woke up!
Well, I went back to my doctor complaining... my boyfriend was with me as well and he pleaded with the doc to change my prescription seeing that he (my boyfriend) took the bulk of my bad moods. The doctor prescribed a different one... well, I have one more day of my "hormone" tablets to go and I am due to start leaking (I have got to find a better word ) in a few days... well, I hope that this time round things will be different! I don't think that I can stand another bout of PMS like the one I experienced the last time. My moods have been better (thank gawd). On my original tablets, I NEVER experienced PMS and then suddenly, I am this walking diaster waiting to happen... disgusting! Keep your fingers crossed... I know that I am... my boyfriend probably is as well. Thank gawd I have got an understanding boyfriend !!
